THE TOURS: Los Angeles – The tour over the HMS Queen Mary was very good. We started with the Self-Guided Audio Tour, which usually takes around two hours, followed by the Ghosts & Legends Show,
THE RENTAL CARS: With this trip we stuck with Alamo Car Rentals, for both countries – American & Canada. Overall, they were very good.
THE ACCOMMODATION: Los Angeles – we stayed at the HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS – HAWTHORNE which was about 15-20 min’s from the airport. They had an excellent airport shuttle which we found very handy. A continental breakfast was included which was quite nice.
THE AIRLINES: Overall, the airlines were where we had the most problems. Because of the “so called”, discounted fares they are trying to squeeze what ever they can from pax’s where they can, eg: luggage, food & upgrading to a seat with more space for another $40.00 per pax. THE WORKING COUNTRY COMPARRISONS: America and Canada are certainly interesting places in their own right. Tourism Australia states that both America and Canada (respectively) were chosen as the second and third most popular choices for international destinations, for Aussies.
THE COST: The trip which encompassed two weeks and one day, (= fifteen (15) days all toll) cost for the two of us together, just under
